In the leather goods sector, the internal management and transport of leathers to third-party suppliers are not very efficient in terms of space and costs, directly affecting the margins of the production process.
To meet this need, we have developed a new folding leather horse, designed to simplify logistics between the company and subcontractors, optimizing the management of full hides or half hides and shipping costs.
Traditional leather horse, when not in use, takes up precious space in the department and in the case of shipments to external processing, the volumes handled have a significant impact on transport costs.
In addition, the possible use of disposable pallets involves additional costs, as well as not being a sustainable choice.
A solution designed to optimize space and logistics
The new folding leather horse was created for a particular need: to transport the leathers to external workshops for processing and receive them folded again with the semi-finished or finished products made, optimizing logistics costs and space in the company.
The operating cycle is simple and structured:
- Loading of the hides on the leather holder
- Sending to the subcontractor
- Material processing
- Return of the folded structure and of the semi-finished or finished products made
This flow requires a robust, safe and above all logistically efficient solution.
Capacity and dimensions of the foldable leather horse
The structure is made of galvanized steel and is designed to handle heavy loads while maintaining stability and reliability.
The dimensions are 107 cm deep and 110 cm high. There are two lengths available depending on the hides to be handled: 130 cm and 210 cm. The load capacity is up to 400 kg.
The dimensions are optimized to ensure a balance between load capacity and ease of handling.
The leather rack, when not in use, is easily folded and it will occupy only a height of 40 cm with the possibility of being stacked with others, further optimizing space in the ward or in the means of transport.

- Ease of use: quick and intuitive opening and closing in just a few steps, without the need for additional equipment.

Technical design focused on safety and handling
The ABC folding leather rack has been designed with particular attention to the internal and external handling of whole hides or half-hides.
It can be handled with:
- Pallet trucks: both on the long and short side, adapting even to the smallest companies.
- Forklift: to easily load it on means of transport.
The structure is stable and sturdy, not equipped with wheels to prevent the trolley from moving while travelling.
These characteristics allow safe use both in production and in the loading/unloading phases.
